Frihet March 2026 Updates: People Module and Complete Accounting Engine
Two major launches in March: people management with ET compliance and a complete accounting engine for 96 countries. All on one platform.
Key takeaways
- Frihet People covers the complete people management cycle: directory, time tracking compliant with Art. 35 ET, holidays, overtime, and a real-time presence dashboard.
- Frihet's accounting engine is now a complete accounting system: General Ledger, P&L Statement, Balance Sheet, Year-end closing, 96 national charts of accounts, and AI-powered cash flow forecasting.
- Both modules are available starting today at app.frihet.io at no additional cost for current plans.
March 2026 has been the busiest production month since Frihet’s launch. Two complete modules, built from scratch, integrated with the rest of the platform, and available starting today.
Here’s everything we’ve shipped.
Frihet People: Frictionless Legal People Management
People management is one of the areas with the most friction in any business. Software disconnected from the ERP, time tracking records on paper or spreadsheets, and compliance with the Workers’ Statute always falling on the responsible manager.
Frihet People solves it at the root.
Employee Directory
A centralized record with all relevant information for each person: personal and contact details, position, department, start date, attached documents, and active status. No duplicates across tools, no scattered information in emails or Drive folders.
The directory is the starting point. From there, each People module works with the same data.
Digital Time Tracking Compliant with Art. 35 ET
Royal Decree-Law 8/2019 mandates that any company with employees must record daily working hours. It’s not optional. There’s no minimum number of employees. And the Labor Inspectorate can request it at any time.
Frihet People generates immutable entry and exit records with timestamps. Data is stored for four years, with direct export to the format required by the Inspectorate. No screenshots. No manually signed documents at the end of the month.
Legal Compliance Without Operational Burden
Time tracking in Frihet requires no hardware or installation. Employees clock in from any device with access to the platform. Managers have real-time visibility and can correct incidents from the same panel.
Integration with the payroll module automatically calculates regular hours, overtime hours, and minimum breaks as per Art. 34 ET. If something doesn’t add up, the system flags it before it reaches the labor consultant.
Absence and Holiday Management
Holiday, leave, and permit request and approval workflows are integrated into the same system. No lost emails or shared spreadsheets with uncontrolled access.
The team calendar shows at a glance who is available each day. Managers approve or reject from the panel. Employees see the status of their request in real-time.
Overtime Control
The module records and categorizes overtime hours per employee, distinguishing between those compensated with time off and those paid on the payroll. The legal limit of 80 annual hours is automatically controlled, with alerts when an employee approaches the cap.
WhosIn: Real-time Presence
WhosIn is the team’s presence dashboard. A panel that shows, in real-time, who is in the office, who is working remotely, who is on holiday, and who hasn’t clocked in yet. No coordination meetings to check for quorum. No calls to confirm attendance.
For distributed or hybrid work teams, it’s the first coordination tool that requires no additional action. The information is already there because time tracking exists.
Three AI Tools for HR
People includes three specific copilots for people management, integrated with the platform’s real data:
Attendance Analysis: detects absenteeism patterns, correlates absences with projects or departments, and identifies risks before they become a problem. No spreadsheets. No manual analysis.
Draft Internal Policies: generates drafts of remote work policies, holiday management, or working hours registration adapted to your company’s size and sector. The result is an editable starting point, not generic text.
Hiring Assistant: suggests job descriptions, structures competency-based interviews, and helps maintain consistency in selection processes as the team grows.
All three copilots work with your company’s data, not fictitious data. The difference is the same as between a consultant who knows your business and one who has just walked through the door.
People has been validated with a set of 80 automated tests covering critical compliance flows: time tracking, legal limits, approvals, and exports. It is not a beta module.
Complete Accounting Engine: From Data to General Ledger
Frihet was born with invoicing, expenses, and a financial dashboard. In March, we closed the loop: now the platform generates real accounting from the data you already have.
It’s not an integration with external accounting software. It’s an accounting engine built on the same database, with the same data, in real time.
General Ledger and Accounting Journals
Every transaction in Frihet — invoices issued, invoices received, payments, collections, payrolls — automatically generates the corresponding journal entries. The General Ledger is available at any time, filterable by account, period, entity, and currency.
Accounting journals record the detail of each movement with the account code, description, debit, and credit. No manual intervention. No periodic imports from invoicing software.
P&L Statement, Balance Sheet, and Trial Balance
The three fundamental financial statements are available in real-time:
- Profit and Loss Statement (P&L): revenues, costs, and profit/loss for the fiscal year, broken down by account and period. Comparable across fiscal years with a click.
- Balance Sheet: assets, liabilities, and equity, always balanced, always up-to-date.
- Trial Balance: verification that debits and credits are balanced. Useful before closing the quarter or fiscal year.
All three reports can be exported as PDF and Excel for direct submission to the auditor or tax advisor.
96 National Charts of Accounts
The accounting engine includes charts of accounts for 96 countries, with over 33,000 predefined accounts extracted from the official plans of each jurisdiction: Spanish General Chart of Accounts (PGC), French General Chart of Accounts (PCG), German SKR03/SKR04, GAAP, IFRS, and all others.
If you operate in several countries, each entity can have its own chart of accounts. Multi-entity consolidation is on the immediate roadmap.
This is not a product curiosity. It’s the foundation for operating in the 71 countries where Frihet is active without needing different accounting software in each market.
Year-end Closing
Frihet’s year-end closing process automates the steps that, in practice, consume days of manual work: regularization of expense and revenue accounts, generation of the closing entry, opening of the new fiscal year with correct balances, and archiving of the closed fiscal year.
The system validates that the fiscal year is complete before allowing closure: no outstanding invoices to be booked, no discrepancies between debits and credits, no unbalanced open periods.
Fixed Assets and Depreciation
The fixed assets module records tangible and intangible fixed assets with their depreciation schedules. The system automatically calculates and books the periodic allocation, with support for the most common depreciation methods: straight-line, declining balance, and units of production.
Each asset has its record with the acquisition value, accumulated depreciation, net book value, and expected disposal date. The asset inventory is always up-to-date without manual intervention.
Bank Rule Engine
Bank reconciliation is no longer manual work. The rule engine learns from previous reconciliations and automatically suggests which bank transaction corresponds to which invoice or expense.
You can define custom rules: «any transfer from IBAN ES00… for an amount between X and Y is automatically reconciled with supplier Z». Transactions that don’t match any rule are flagged for review.
AI-powered Cash Flow Forecast
The treasury copilot analyzes the history of collections and payments, outstanding invoice due dates, and business seasonality to generate a cash flow forecast for 30, 60, and 90 days.
The result is not a linear projection. The model identifies customers who systematically pay late, months with higher expense concentration, and risk scenarios before they materialize. The forecast is automatically updated every time money enters or leaves the platform.
Comparative Reports
Frihet’s accounting reports allow comparing any period with any other: this quarter against the same quarter of the previous year, this fiscal year against the two previous ones, the first half against the second.
The comparison does not require exporting data or building tables in Excel. It is integrated into the same panel where you view the reports.
From Invoice to Audit Report
The complete flow now happens within Frihet: you create the invoice, it’s automatically booked, the payment is reconciled with the bank, the entry updates the General Ledger, and the result appears in the P&L Statement. No exports, no imports, no manual intervention between steps.
What’s Coming in April
Next quarter’s work is focused on three areas:
Multi-entity Consolidation: for business groups or businesses with multiple companies, the ability to consolidate balance sheets and P&L statements across entities from a single dashboard.
E-invoicing EN16931: the European standard for structured electronic invoicing. Belgium already requires it. France will require it in September 2026. Frihet will have native support before that date.
Customer Portal: a space where your customers can view their invoices, download documents, and pay directly without your intervention.
The complete roadmap is published at frihet.io/developers.
Frihet is no longer just invoicing and expenses. It’s the platform from which you manage people, accounting, treasury, and regulatory compliance. Everything connected. Everything in real time.
If you haven’t tried the new modules yet, log in to your account and activate them from the settings panel. If you don’t have an account yet, start today.
