Your ERP is already compliant with mandatory EU e-invoicing
Frihet supports EN16931, Peppol BIS 3.0, and KSeF natively. Invoice electronically across 30+ countries with zero additional setup. The EU mandates e-invoicing — Frihet is already ready.
What is mandatory e-invoicing?
E-invoicing is an invoice document in structured digital format exchanged between sender and receiver in an automated way. Unlike a PDF, an XML or UBL file can be processed directly by the recipient's accounting system.
Several EU countries have established mandatory e-invoicing for B2B transactions. The European standard EN16931 defines the common semantic model that underlies all national formats.
European standard EN16931 — natively supported in Frihet
Frihet implements the semantic model of the EN16931 standard, which is the technical foundation required in all EU national mandates. This means that when a new country mandates e-invoicing, Frihet adapts without you changing anything.
- Invoice generation in UBL 2.1 and CII (Cross Industry Invoice) formats
- Automatic validation against the EN16931 schema before sending
- Support for Peppol BIS 3.0 (pan-European interoperability profile)
- Archiving compliant with each national regulation

Automatic generation of the correct format
Frihet detects the recipient's country and automatically generates the required e-invoice format: UBL, CII, Factur-X, or the country-specific format.
Validation before sending
Each invoice is validated against the EN16931 schema and local business rules before being sent. Zero invoices rejected due to technical errors.
Direct sending to the Peppol network
Frihet generates invoices in Peppol-compatible formats (UBL 2.1, CII) and facilitates sending through certified Access Points, connecting you to the pan-European e-invoicing network.
Continuous updates for new regulations
The Frihet team monitors regulatory changes in all supported countries. Compliance updates are deployed automatically, with no action required from you.
Frequently asked questions about EU e-invoicing
When does mandatory e-invoicing come into effect in the EU?
It is already in effect in Belgium (since January 2026) and Poland (KSeF, February–April 2026). France implements it in phases from September 2026. The EU ViDA mandate affecting all intra-EU B2B transactions applies from July 2030.
What e-invoicing standard does the EU use?
The base standard is EN16931 (European e-invoicing standard). Each country can define a national profile on top of this standard. Peppol BIS 3.0 is the most widely adopted interoperability profile across Europe.
Is Frihet a certified Peppol Access Point?
Frihet operates with infrastructure compatible with the Peppol network for sending and receiving e-invoices. Contact our team for details on current certification in your country.
Do I need to configure anything to comply with the regulations?
No. Frihet handles compliance automatically. You just need to make sure your customers' tax data is correct. The system detects the country, applies the correct format and rules, and validates before sending.
