What this integration does

GoCardless enables you to collect payments directly from your customers' bank accounts via SEPA direct debit. Frihet's integration automates the entire cycle: mandate setup, payment collection, reconciliation, and failure handling. It is the ideal solution for businesses with recurring billing in Europe.

When a payment is collected, Frihet automatically matches it to the corresponding invoice and marks it as paid. Failed payments trigger alerts and update the invoice status, so your accounts receivable always reflects reality.

For subscription businesses, retainer-based services, or any model with predictable recurring payments, GoCardless through Frihet eliminates the friction of chasing bank transfers and the fees of card processing.

How to set it up

    Connect your GoCardless account

    Go to Settings > Integrations and click Connect GoCardless. You'll be redirected to GoCardless to authorize Frihet with the necessary permissions.

    Set up customer mandates

    For each customer who will pay by direct debit, create a mandate in GoCardless. You can send mandate requests directly from Frihet.

  3. 3

    Link invoices to direct debit

    Configure Frihet to automatically create GoCardless payment requests when invoices are issued to customers with active mandates.

  4. 4

    Configure failure handling

    Set up what happens when a payment fails: automatic retry after X days, notification to your team, and customer email reminder.
