What this integration does

Stripe Connect enables your clients to pay your invoices directly by credit card through Frihet. Payments go to your own Stripe account, and Frihet takes a small platform fee. Every invoice includes a secure payment link that works without your client needing to create any account.

When you generate an invoice in Frihet, a payment link with QR code is automatically added to the PDF. Your client can pay with one click from the invoice portal or by scanning the QR code. Payment status syncs in real time: the moment the money arrives in your Stripe account, Frihet marks the invoice as paid.

Payment URLs are protected with HMAC signatures, ensuring no one can tamper with the amount or invoice data. Multi-currency support is included so international clients can pay in their local currency.

How to set it up

    Connect your Stripe account via OAuth

    Go to Settings > Integrations and click Connect Stripe Connect. You will be redirected to Stripe to authorize the connection with your account.

    Configure your payment preferences

    Set the accepted currencies, the description that will appear on your client's bank statement, and your payment notification preferences.

    Test with a sample invoice

    Create a test invoice and pay with a test card to verify that the payment link, client portal, and status sync all work correctly.
