What this integration does

Frihet's PayPal integration imports every transaction — payments received, refunds, fees, and currency conversions — directly into your accounting. Each incoming payment is matched to a customer and invoice, eliminating the need to cross-reference PayPal reports with your books manually.

Multi-currency transactions are recorded with the exact exchange rate PayPal applied. Fees are separated and logged as expenses so your profit margins reflect the true cost of each sale.

Whether you receive payments through PayPal buttons, invoices, or checkout on your website, Frihet captures them all in a unified ledger alongside your other payment sources.

Features

  • Automatic import of all PayPal transactions including fees
  • Invoice matching — incoming payments linked to the correct invoice
  • Multi-currency support with automatic exchange rate recording
  • PayPal fee tracking as categorized expenses
  • Refund and dispute synchronization
  • Support for PayPal Checkout, PayPal.Me, and PayPal invoices
  • Consolidated view alongside Stripe, bank transfers, and other sources

How to set it up

  1. 1

    Connect your PayPal account

Go to Settings > Integrations and click Connect PayPal. Log in to your PayPal account and authorize Frihet to access transaction data.

  2. 2

    Import historical transactions

Choose how far back to import. Frihet pulls your PayPal history and matches payments to existing invoices where possible.

  3. 3

    Configure matching rules

Set rules for how Frihet matches PayPal payments to invoices — by email, reference number, or amount. Unmatched payments are flagged for review.
